Region Oberrhein

The Maulbronn Cistercian monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the best preserved medieval monastery complexes. It includes all styles and stages of development from romantic to late Gothic.


In the heart of the asparagus metropolis of the Electoral Palatinate, the baroque ensemble of the 18th century summer residence welcomes you. The art-loving Elector Carl Theodor (1724 – 1799) created a garden here that unites intellectual history and fashions from the Baroque to the Enlightenment to Romanticism.


The Imperial Cathedral in Speyer, inaugurated in the 11th century, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1981. The cathedral is one of the main works of Romanesque architecture in Germany and at the same time the largest building of this era in Europe.
