I am a city guide because : I want to keep myself mentally fit by introducing our guests to the stories and sights of Bruchsal.

My professional career was / is as follows : I was a detective in Bruchsal and Karlsruhe until I retired. Now I’m a wine guide too.

When I have time to myself, I like to : go hiking.

I’ve been a city guide for Bruchsal since : 2005.

I am a city guide because : Bruchsal is full of surprises, wants to be discovered and I like to be with guests on the “search for clues”.

My professional career was / is as follows : As a mother of three children and a religious educator, I was active in secondary school for 30 years and do volunteer work in the elderly and educational work.

When I have time to myself, I like to do : rummaging in the bookstore, doing my voluntary work and facing new challenges.

I’m a city guide because : I really enjoy it.

My professional career was / is as follows : Administrative employee at the city of Bruchsal, most recently chairman of the staff council.

When I have time for myself, I like to go : Excursions in the surrounding area, fruit growing, vintners and schnapps distillers.

Ralf Freitag

I’ve been a city guide for Bruchsal since : 2013.

I’m a city guide because : I want to pass on my knowledge about my hometown, especially to children and young people.

My professional career was / is as follows : I was born in Bruchsal and have lived here for 60 years. Many historical places here were once my playground. Since I will be retiring in the foreseeable future, my work as a city guide is the best opportunity not to get mentally rusty.

When I have time to myself, I like to do : taking photos and image editing, cooking, live music (from rock to jazz), hiking.

Ingrid Grech-Kunz

I’ve been a city guide for Bruchsal since : 2005.

I’m a city guide because : I like to show guests and children the beautiful corners of our city and tell them about the people who used to live here.

My professional career was / is as follows : Secretary, wife and mother of three adult children, part-time childminder.

When I have time to myself, I like to do : walks, reading, enjoying the garden, weaving at the loom and baking bread.

Petra Heermann

I’ve been tower leader since : 2012

I am the tower leader of the Katzenturm because : The tower from the 14th century is very close to my heart and I like my enthusiasm for the tower and for bring the Heidelsheim story closer to others.

My professional career was / is as follows : Full-time railroader. As a member of the historical association “Bürgerwehr Heydolfesheim”, I am committed to the homeland, the preservation of monuments and customs in my free time. This includes the cat tower and its history.

When I have time to myself, I like to do : reading.

Marlies Kneis

I am a city guide because : I really enjoy passing on my knowledge of our beautiful city to those who are interested.

My professional career was / is as follows : As a former secretary and long-time “only housewife and mother”, the activity of a city guide initially meant one big challenge for me. But I quickly realized how much fun every single tour is, that every time it is different and something special. I try to bring people closer to our homeland with expertise and humor. The contact with many different participants, with fellow city guides and the staff at the tourist information office is a real enrichment.

When I have time to myself, I like to do : sports (walking, fitness gymnastics), reading and traveling.

Maic Lindenfelser

I’ve been a city guide for Bruchsal since : 2015

I am a city guide because : New city guides were sought for the upcoming home days who were supposed to introduce a kind of “private” Bruchsal. I felt directly addressed because I have always collected entertaining, amusing and inspiring stories and can now tell them.

My professional career was / is as follows : Before my engagement in Bruchsal, I led garden trips by bus to Alsace, the Black Forest and the Palatinate. Here I was able to live out my love for nature and people alike.

When I have time for myself, I like to : Research on homeland issues. Then I sit in the kitchens or gardens of my fellow human beings and marvel at their stories.

Anette Schäffner

I’ve been a city guide for Bruchsal since : 2011

I’m a city guide because : I like to communicate with people and bring them closer to the white gold on my asparagus farm, what it hides in and around it.

My professional career was / is as follows : Once I jumped in as a specialist consultant in asparagus cultivation. Which turned out to be a complete success after the event. I’ve been there ever since. It gives me a lot of pleasure every year to be able to welcome the groups to our farm.

When I have time for myself, I like to do : wellness, walking and hiking.

I am a city guide because : I would like to bring people closer to Bruchsal.

My professional career was / is as follows : High school teacher.

When I have time to myself, I like to do : reading, gardening and enjoying a glass of wine.

Marliese Schwedes

I’ve been a city guide in Heidelsheim since : 2003

I am a city guide because : I enjoy meeting new people and I find that knowledge about the past explains the present. < / p>

My professional career was / is as follows : Until 2002 I worked in a medium-sized company as an office worker. Since 2002 I have represented my husband on cat tower tours. In doing so, I found that I take great pleasure in introducing visitors to the history of Heidelsheim. Today I wrap history in stories that I tell the visitors as “Rosa” from 1936 on a tour of the former imperial city.

When I have time for myself, I like to do : I read, ride my bike, tend my garden and sew my clothes.

Helene Seifert

I’ve been a city guide for Bruchsal since : 2006

I’m a city guide because : I want to pass on the beauty of a city (also in English and Italian), I’m interested in history and stories, me I find the people of a city exciting, I also have experience as a museum guide and tour guide.

My professional career was / is as follows : Studies (art history, archeology, Romance studies) in Würzburg and Freiburg. In Karlsruhe freelance worker at various museums (Bad. Landesmuseum, Staatl. Kunsthalle, Stadtmuseen) and for State Palaces and Gardens BW, 1 year museum management Stadtmuseum Ettlingen, active in church music (flute and singing).

When I have time for myself, I like to do : making music (singing, playing the flute), sewing, walking with foster dogs, pulling plants from seeds .
